DESCRIPTION
As a Biosample Operations Specialist, you are an expert in identifying and implementing infrastructure and practices for ingestion, storage, and tracking of biospecimens, while maintaining the highest of quality standards. You are an excellent communicator, who can interact with internal and external stakeholders, and are a proactive, creative self-starter who is comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment that is sometimes ambiguous. You will work cross-functionally with scientific, clinical, and software teams to support the program’s success. You have a passion for the life sciences, are highly organized, and are excited about the mission of Puriely.
We partner with leading life science, medical device and government organizations to enable fast development, meaningful advances, and deployment at scale. Our work spans many projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination of biosample collections, transfers and storage between clinical sites, central storage and lab sites, serving as the key contact for these interactions.

Respond to questions from clinical and lab sites regarding biosample processing, handling, shipping, receiving, storage and deviations from SOPs for any of the above.

Establish and ensure adherence to best practices and SOPs for biosample handling, both internally and at external sites.

Maintain internal databases as source of truth for biosample metadata, standardized across projects.

Identify areas of risk and develop improved processes, including both practices and documentation. Perform any other activities related to biosample management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications:

BS degree in life science discipline.

2 years of work experience in biosample operations.

Strong knowledge of best practices for processes related to PBMCs.

Excellent ability to identify and proactively engage stakeholders, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
-
4+ cumulative years of scientific research management, clinical research management or program management experience, along with deep expertise in biosample operations management.

Experience with GCLP and CLIA.

Experience with diverse biosample types, including but not limited to PBMCs, serum, plasma, nucleic acids, stool, and tissue blocks.

Demonstrated ability to multitask, analyze opportunities, define effective approaches, and proactively overcome challenges.
